Birthday Card and MP2 Reflection

 



I have learned so much about all of the features available in the Photoshop application through 21st Century Ed. Mainly, I've gotten to perfect some of my already existing skills with graphic design, while also learning how to do certain designs and edits more efficiently. I think the most useful part from 21st Century Ed were the projects they had us do because the hands-on application of what I learned through videos and diagrams helped me to remember what I was actually learning. I really enjoyed the freestyle projects we had as well because the freedom to create my own design and purpose for the design was the most fun. I hope that I'm able to continue to explore graphic design in college and apply what I've learned in the digital world to other art forms and/or occupations.

  I will truly miss getting to spend second period working on Photoshop projects and chatting with Ms. Wang and Alexa :) Finishing high school is very bittersweet, and although I'm excited about everything that's to come, I know how sad I'm going to be on my final day at MCSM. Photoshop and photography have taught me a lot about myself and the extent of my artistic abilities. I'm now far less intimated by using technology to create art, and I know that in the future I will surely continue to use skills and methods that I've picked up in photography and Photoshop alike. My art classes this year have taught me how to think creatively and work adaptively while also not being afraid to try something out, then delete it with the press of a button. I just want this final reflection to be a memento of my time in multimedia class this year, and I want you to know how grateful I am for getting the opportunity to be your student. I will miss you, Ms. Wang, and I'm excited

Project 5

 To create my college decisions poster, I found a side profile view of a woman thinking, selecting and inverting the image so I could isolate just her frame and fill it with a black color. Now that I had a simple outline to work with, I inserted a small brain to add a little bit of color before working on creating the background. I knew I didn't want anything too busy or flashy, so I went for a simple gradient using purple and yellow. Then, I started searching up pngs of different college logos, making the left side contain all the colleges I'd applied to, and the right contain all the ones I had been accepted into.

What Is Multimedia?

       Multimedia is the use of a computer to combine a variety of media into a cohesive and purposeful arrangement. Multimedia is an art form, and it forces the artist to shift into a unique perspective and look for creative ways to combine images, links, text, videos and even audio to immerse the viewer into an artistic experience. The whole purpose of multimedia is to encourage both the artist and the viewer to interact and input their own ideas. Communication is the core interest of multimedia, and with an increasingly technological world, any opportunity to connect with one another should be invested in.      Artists who work in multimedia will often use a software called Adobe Photoshop to create their pieces. Photoshop is a powerful program that can do almost anything when it comes to editing images.
